What is good content and how to write good content ?

Good content can be defined as a blog or article which provides maximum value to its readers and is in simple words .People are looking for answers in simple language to their questions in their minds and if it is not in simple language then it rarely serves the purpose .

The above screenshot is an example of my definition versus content available on the internet.I have been searching the internet for 3 hours now on the same topic but still I am unable to find 5 ways of writing good content. There are many ways listed, but I am still not convinced .If I would have been convinced ,then I would have shared the link myself.

I am just trying to say that there is a huge demand for good content and people are searching too, but the writers are unable to provide value through content . The first way is before publishing any content ,the article should be well-researched by the author or publisher so that the reader is convinced after reading the article that he need not refer any other article for the same topic.For this amount of conviction the publisher should do a thorough research on the topic and also provide some examples to prove his point.

The second way of writing good content is that the article should include some images, some videos and these infographics should be related to the article or the blog post . These things matter a lot to the readers also and the google ranking also .It is also part of the google algorithm on the basis of which google ranks the website. The third way of writing good content is simply by installing a good SEO tool and following its guidelines. SEO tools are plugins in wordpress which guide you in making your article SEO friendly. The fourth way of writing good content or blog is that it should have an attractive headline.

After the headline of the blog or article , comes the main part. And the content should be written in such a way that it resonates with its readers and they want to read more of it. The second para should be tempting enough to make the reader read the next line and so on. This way the readers keep on reading .The blog should be as detailed as possible . Many people think that readers don’t reads long form copies or blogs but it is not true.Many genuine readers who become customers are the same people who go through the blog first. If they are convinced by the blog ,then they become consumers or customers.

The fifth way of writing good content is taking care of any grammatical errors and punctuation errors.These may seem minor mistakes but if there are a lot of errors , it may be a big turn-off for the readers. I have no grammer problem but still sometimes ,when I visit my previous blogs I find some mistakes here and there. So it is better to avoid these mistakes in the first place itself.

Hello friends,today’s topic is reading books. I know the topic sounds wierd because most of the people keep reading books right from kindergarten (https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/why-is-kindergarten-called-kindergarten) to graduation, or even more.But here, I am not talking about the books which are related to the curriculum, but books related to life .

Today, I am going to list out 7 benefits of reading books.

The first benefit is that these books provide a lot of insights. For example there is a book called “How to stop worrying and start living” by Dale Carnegie. By reading the book ,I came to know about a lot of things like,why does anybody worry in the first place and how it can be cured.

The book was written in 1937 in USA and I read it on my mobile in India in 2023 but the base principles are the same even after 85 years. There was one more thing written in book which caught my attention .It was ” 90 % of the thing in our life is right and only 10 % is not right .” But we keep worrying about the 10 % forgetting the 90 %.

You can also become an author.I was not a keen reader myself , but when I did a digital marketing course last year, I came to know the importance of being an author and for being a author you need to know how to write.And for learning how to write ,you need to read some books of other authors in the first place . So,this is how I started reading and now I regret not starting reading earlier.

Today in this digital world where everyone is connected more than ever before, being an author is not that tough because of 2 reasons. Firstly mentors are available to guide you in the process and secondly ,you do not need a large publishing house to publish your book. Self-publishing optios are available at a fraction of the cost involved in traditional publishing.

The fourth benefit is that reading improves your G.K. The fifth benefit is that reading reduces stress. When we start reading a book , we forget about our surroundings and focus on what we are reading. The time ,we are engrossed in the book,helps to reduce stress and become smarter because of the contents we read in the book.

The sixth benefit is it improves the speed of reading.Many people complain that they are not good at English.English has 3 components -speaking ,reading and writing .So the more you focus on reading ,you will improve on writing and speaking also.One trick is also that if you think in English ,you will speak also in English.

The last benefit is ? I am searching what to list out among all the benefits listed out on the internet.But I am confused because the benefits are so much that I am getting overwhelmed. So,I leave it upon my readers to reply in the comment section about the next benefit.

What is savings ? The amount left with a person after deducting all the expenses is called savings. Any child can tell that . But why am I talking about that in the first place ? This is because I am from India and majority of the Indians don’t like to invest in risky places and prefer to keep their savings in traditional places like fixed deposits ,recurring deposits in banks and post offices even when they give no absolute returns.

Let us make a list of places where a normal salaried person can save and park their money for returns:

1. Savings account- This is the most common and primary place where the normal citizen can park their funds. Savings account provide returns ranging from 2.5 % to 7% depending on the time(duration of the deposit) and bank.

2) Recurring deposits- This is a type of investment where a person can invest on a monthly basis in banks.The money is deducted directly from the bank account to the recurring account.The interest rate is usually 6 to 7 % on an annual basis.

4) Real Estate – Investment in real estate is also a very good investment. Once it is acquired ,it gives return for a long time with increase in value. Real estate is of 2 types – One is organized like we buy apartments and office spaces from the developer and the other is unorganized like we buy land directly from the land owner and carry out the construction ourselves. But the only drawback is that it requires large capital at a time .It is not affordable for everyone.

5) Share Market – Share market is a place which shows us the true power of savings and investment. Everybody in India saves somewhere for their future like in FD, RD and Post Office schemes as stated above. But what returns do they get ? Maximum 7- 8 % per annum . India has more than 100 lakh crore in fixed deposits and is considered the biggest wealth destroyer .I know people who are working as an employee in a government bank (considered safe in India) and put their savings in fixed deposit because they are safe. Compare this situation to another one .

There is a business family in India called Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Its founder is Shapoorji Mistry. He had a real estate business in 1858 and built many landmark buildings in India including Reserve Bank of India’s building in Mumbai. His son was Pallonji Mistry and he started investing in Tata group business in 1931 by buying the share of Tata Sons which is the holding company of all the Tata companies.As of 2022, it had a stake of over 18 % which makes it the largest shareholder and is worth Rs.80000- 100000 crore. It will keep on increasing as the price of share move upwards.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala ,who died last year was considered an ace investor .When Titan Company was listed in 2003 , he started buying its shares. Today he and his wife still has a stake of 5% in Titan valued at Rs.10000 crores.

There is a company in Singapore which is government owned called Temasek Holdings. It was incorporated in 1974 with a small corpus initially .It started investing in other companies all around the world and today it manages assets worth half a trillion dollars with only 900 employees. It simply invests in good companies and when the business grows, its valuation also goes up .

I am simply trying to prove that taking no risk is the biggest risk which a person takes for himself. He can at least invest in some good companies which provides him some capital appreciation. If he does not understand share markets,there is another option called mutual funds.

6) Mutual Funds- Mutual funds are funds which collects fund from the public and invest in capital markets but in a way which reduces the risk and also provides capital appreciation. There are a lot of guidelines made by the government which are followed by the mutual fund companies which makes it safe for the investors.If we only consider the index returns of Sensex since it was started in 1986 , it has provided CAGR of 15%.

Every decision you take today has an impact on your future decisions.But you should stop saying that if I had known this earlier ,it should have been better.I have seen an influencer saying in his videos that “I worked for 16 years in a job in which I was not satisfied.” But it was the same job which helped him grow in life and learn many things apart from earning money.

Most of the people are not satisfied with their job profiles.They always has the option to leave the organization.But an organization also puts in a lot of effort in teaching the employees the work which they have to do. I also had many problems 5 years before .But when I look back ,I realize that every situation taught me something and helped me to grow in some way or the other and because of that , I learnt many things which I would’nt have learnt if such situations had’nt happened in the first place.It also helped me in my self-development in various ways.

Be true to yourself– Being true to yourself does not mean you always say truthful things to everyone.It means you are a person of integrity .For example ,in India ,many people prepare for government exams .There parents also support them.But whether a student will be able to crack the exam or not ,nobody knows better than himself.But if he knows that he will not be able to pass the exam and still he keeps on preparing for 5 years ,he is wasting his time and his parents money.

Instead, he can work on his self development and do a private job or some business to earn and not be dependent on his parents.

Start a business – Starting a business will help immensely in your development.This is because there is a lot of difference in doing a job and doing a business. 3. Follow you passion– You must have heard from many people that you should follow your dreams.You should be passionate about your work .Why do people say that ? Is there any science to it ? 4. Be grateful for what you have -About 90 % of the things in our life are correct and only 10 % are wrong .We should not focus on the 10 % ignoring the other 90 % and worry about it.It will cause more misery for us.We seldom think of what we have but always think of what we lack.

Instead we should achieve what we want and then enjoy it.I personally know many people who have cars and credit cards but when I ask them for investment in certain products ,they start ranting that they have no money to save and their expenses exceed their income.

Never lose focus of what you are doing by listening to other comments . Just be confident of your work if you feel that you are right because many times it happens that people start criticizing you for your actions even if you have done no wrong.This can affect your productivity seriously.And it might be for some other reason .So,believe in yourself and just remember that sometimes “Unjust criticism is often a disguised complement.”

5.Appreciate everyone-“The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated”.This desire makes you want to wear the latest styles ,have the latest phones and post it to social media.Everyone wants a feeling of importance. So you should appreciate everyone.

The truth is that almost all the people you meet feel themselves superior to you in some way and if you are successful in making them realize that you recognize their importance ,you will surely win their hearts. And if you apply this same principle in your business or your organization ,it will surely help in increasing your productivity.

8.Avoiding conflict with others– When you talk to someone ,never say to them directly that you’re wrong because if you do so ,you have struck a direct blow at their intelligence ,judgement ,pride and self-respect.It may start an arguement but it will never change their mindset. Instead say them in a different way and also admit that you may be wrong.It will certainly help in avoiding an arguement.

This is because few people are logical .Most of us are prejudiced and biased and blighted with pre-concieved notions with jealousy,suspicion ,fear,envy and pride.And nobody wants to change their minds about religion or communism or even their favourite star or their haircut. The same principle also applies in business or your workplace .So to increase productivity in your workplace ,be sure to avoid any conflict with others.

9.Let them feel important– If you want to increase your productivity at your workplace or in business ,you have to follow this simple rule of letting the other people feel important. This means even if you know that it is your work and the other person is taking credit of it ,let them take it .Because many times this specific reason becomes the topic for an argument or confict with others.

So in order to get cooperation from other people, it becomes necessary to let them take the credit if it results in bigger advantage.

10. Personalize you talk– It also may happen that people don’t agree to you on certain points. The , you may say that you were also like them at a certain point and you had also made the same mistakes as them .If you have a child and he is not convinced on some point with you, you might explain to him that you wre also like him at some point. This way other people might get convinced with your point easily.

If you are in a senior position in an organization, you might say to your team members that at some point you were also like them and then you did so and so , which resulted in increasing your productivity and you achieved the results faster.By saying this ,they might get motivated instead of you following other methods to make them more productive.

11. Appeal to nobler motives– Many times it may happen that you are not able to convince someone. It may your wife, your boss or a client .You have said everything possible to him in order to convince him but still he has some doubts .Then you might convince him by appealing to nobler motives or relating them to a social cause .

Let go of bitterness towards others – Many times you will feel that something that happened with you was wrong.Some person is wrong .They should not have done it with you .But ,how do you deal with it ? The correct way of dealing with such situations is just letting it go and forget about it .You cannot change the people .If you keep thinking and cribbing about it, you will forget your ultimate goal of realising your potential and being successful. Treat failures as stepping stones- After you have set goals and decided to become what you want , you will start your journey but there will be many instances where you will fail .But when you fail ,you don’t have to give reasons to anybody as to why you failed and you neither need to regret your decisions .Just treat them as stepping stones and move on .

No competetion -You don’t need to compete with anyone in life.In school you might be in competetion to get more marks than other students.You might have played sports in school where you try to defeat everyone else and become number one.But when you are living in reality ,it doesn’t work like that. In order to realize your goal of full potential or become successful in business, you need to avoid the rat-race completely and focus on your goals. This is because every person is unique in their own way and their skills are also different .You can choose your niche according to your talent and become successful in that.

Choose your mentor – If you are still confused and you are overwhelmed about where to start from ,then just choose a mentor.A mentor can be anyone who you consider your role model or the person like whom you want to become. He can guide you and mentor you in reaching your goals.In today’s world, where everyone is available at the click of a button ,it might not be as tough as it was just 10 years ago.

Regret is a negative emotion with which most people live throughout their life ,in fact 90 percent of the people ,according to a research by Saybrook University,US.This feeling of regret are not related to age .It impacts people of all age and gender. This impacts their life in many negative ways.

Constantly ruminating on past regret can lead to symptoms such as anxiety,depression, poor self-esteem, helplessness and feeling of hopelessness.These are very negative emotions which can adversly impact the productivity of any person in personal and professional life.

So, I thought to mention 8 ways of dealing with regrets in your life.Even in Bhagvad Geeta ,Lord Krishna says that we should not keep lamenting about the past because we cannot do anything about it ,we can only be in present and plan for the future.

Forgive yourself- Usually when you take a bad decision,you are the person who is hardest on yourself .But bad decisions are an opportunity to master the art of self-forgiveness. Accept it- First of all ,many people find it really hard to accept that it was their mistake .So, the first step is taking the responsibility and accepting that the decision was theirs.It was a different matter that it did not go as planned.Everyone makes mistakes and if someone knew that the decision would lead to regret, why would anyone take such decision in the first place.

Learn from it-Instead of regretting or feeling sorry for yourself ,you should take it as a learning experience and move on.We will have many experiences sometimes ,not good .We should not regret any decision but take it in a positive way and learn from out mistakes.

Do something to cancel the regret- If you have some qualms about not doing it in the past, you can always focus on it at present ,so that you have no regrets in future.For example if a parent could not give time to his children in the past due to some work commitment , they can be with them in present so that they have no disappointment in future.

Find other people with similar regrets- You should socialize more and share your feelings with other people.If you find many people in the same situation as you , it may comfort you and make you feel better.

Experiments are necessary-Sometimes you have to take a decision for which no results are available.You can’t predict the outcome until you do it. For example when you are joining a new office,you are not going to know what type of senior you will get and how will his behaviour be or how your performance will be .They are only assumptions at best until you actually start going to office.And if your experience is not so good, there is no point regretting it because you had no idea in the first place.The best option would be to take it as a experience and move on.

Give others a chance-You can use your regret to good use by helping others .You can use the lessons which you have learnt the hard way to stop others from making the same mistake.You can join a school or college program or use any digital channels to share your experience.

Think of friends and family-If you can’t change your habit of regret for yourself, do it for those who love you .By focusing on better things, you will be able to combat regretful thoughts and commit to new and positive ways of thinking.

They say things like “I wish I had not joined this organization ” or “I might have studied in a different college “, or “I wish I could have been married to some other partner “.These things take a toll on their mental health and they are not able to focus on working today, in the present to improve their future.

Liquidity- Investors can sell their shares anytime they want .Thus ,a public company provides liquidity to investors which is not generally seen in other form of investment like insurance and fixed deposits.

IPO Norms- The rules for a public company are safe and professional for protecting retail investors.The company’s prospectus consists of all the information like performace ,growth ,financials and future plans.So the investor can invest in a company after analysing all the data himself.

Exit opportunity- The early investors of a public company gets an opportunity to sell their shares at the market price .Usually their money or capital gets locked in when they invest in any company but when the same company goes for a public listing, the investors gets an opportunity to liquidate their initial investment.

Publicity and Credibility -The owner of the public company starts getting publicity and credibility also ,when the company goes public because everybody starts talking about them.Sometimes it may be investors or analylists from various companies all over the country talking about them.In they process they get free publicity for which similar companies have to pay in the form of advertisement.Thus people trust them more because when a company goes public,it has to pass through many layers of scrunity.

Title tag- The title of the blog post also appears on the browser tab.It also affects the SEO.So the title should be appealing .

Optimized images and videos-Putting in different images and videos is also important because without these,the posts look boring.Sometimes images add relevancy to the subject and make it more appealing.

There is no fixed method to learn content writing.But it is said somewhere that you have 100000 words of bad content in you . In other words you can get better at it only by practice .The more you write ,the better you become at it. ‘

You can write as many blogs but you must have consistency .For example ,if you write only two blogs every week,you will have more than 100 blogs at the end of a year and within 5 years ,you will have 500 blogs .That’s a lot and with that ,some articles will start ranking too. And a general SEO strategy will also take 6 months to 1 year to start showing results.

One thing that keeps me motivated is the result of compounding. I believe that this is also a business which will give compounded results in future because once a website has many blogs ,readers will keep on coming to the website and it will become an asset .Anybody writes only once but readers keep on reading since they like the content.

Leadership has many attributes.There are major factors of leadership .These are the qualities which are found in a leader.He is a leader by mindset whether in home or in office or as a entrepreneur.

• Courage : It means that a leader should have full knowledge and confidence over the product or service which he is selling. Then only he will have the courage to market it. In the initial phase, no one or very less people will support but he should have the courage to go aheads with the project.

Question 1.

How has been your journey so far ? From School to college to your corporate career ?

The 12-year journey in content writing so far has been pretty exciting. From my school days, I took an interest in writing. Dreamt to be a great writer like those of the Victorian age. Victorian literature attracted me a lot. Content writing or any form of online content creation was not even on the distant horizon.

This content writing opportunity came to me all of a sudden from my online contacts. I was busy managing my family at home. I always nurtured the passion for doing something worthwhile. At the start, I wrote for a paid blog run by The Times of India. It winded up for some reasons unknown.

Later I found a unique niche in health tourism and wellness tourism. These are emerging markets with lots of potential, especially after the pandemic. I studied and researched a lot to build my expertise in writing. I am in an advisory role as well. I am happy to work not only for my career growth but also that serves a bigger purpose.

Question 2. When did you think about starting a business ?

Honestly speaking, my objective is not fully business-oriented. I intend to help budding content writers looking for the right direction. I have also conducted webinars to help them out. You can find them on my YouTube channel. Some of them acknowledged my efforts. You know, it feels good when you see your mentorship is helping somebody out there.

But yes, I plan to run a full-fledged digital marketing agency in the future. The time is now to do the spade work. The team building is on.

Question 3. How do you manage your personal and professional life?

Managing work-life balance has never been a big deal for me. Thanks to a lot of reading and practical applications. I take a lot of interest in corporate culture, workplace wellness, burnouts, and others. I maintain specific time slots for specific activities. Make sure not to take too many things on my plate. There are overwhelming situations at times, but that is also a part of life. You need to build your acceptance.

Question 4. Who is your mentor?

In content writing, I would rather say ‘Good Books’ are my mentors. Reading is the main tool to grow in content writing. I am lucky to work with a few recognized professionals whose guidance also helped me to grow.

I will suggest reading Becoming by Michelle Obama, Autobiography of Lee Iocaca, First Things First by Stephen R.Covey. I think these will be great for the young generation starting fresh. Lee Iocaca’s book may seem to be difficult to grasp but I would still recommend to consider it as the Bible of Business Management.

Question 5. What advice you will give to students who are just starting out as graduates ?

My advice will be to first make sure what you want to do in life. You will have to decide.  It is never wrong to try different things. Don’t be afraid of failure. That blocks your potential. Whatever you pursue, dive deep into it unless you are able to make it work for you.  Be honest with yourself first.

The fifth step is taking your business to the stock market . Stock market is a place where true value of business is derived by the market itself. It will help in valuing your business and that depends on a lot of factors.

Domain and hosting works well if they are in the same place like I have both on Godaddy. SSL is also something which is very important . I made the mistake of not buying it in the first place. I thought I will buy when I will need it.

        A professional email is also provided for free if it is included in the starter package . If you buy it later, you have to pay separately for the email. That’s why it makes more sense to get it in the first place itself. 

 The fifth thing which is included in some packages is the backups. Backups means the data of the website is stored in a secondary place ,if the website crashes for some reasons. But almost all the service providers promises 99.9 % uptime but no one can guarantee that the website will never be down . There are so many viruses and malware that there is always a risk for the website. 

             After this starter bundle , the next step is the plugins. There is a option of building your website on WordPress. WordPress is a open source software which helps in building websites easily even if you have no knowledge of coding. Back in 2002, when there was no WordPress, websites were built using Javascript codes which was very tough and expensive too. Always buy for 3 years or more in a package because if you buy only for 1 year ,renewal will be expensive. It is the same structure in all the products. As I am writing this article , I was also checking reviews of other users on google about godaddy . It was very surprising that there are some articles with the heading like “10 reasons of not using godaddy” . It seems it is written by an expert in their field. For example if you are expert in your subject like maths and some other teacher is coaching to a weak student and charging high fees from him ,then you complain that his services are very expensive. Godaddy has more than 20 million users and trust is always built if it is a leading player in the market.

And some one was commenting that its customer care is not good. I have been calling to godaddy’s customer support for more that 2 years now, and I never felt that they were arrogant. After the call gets disconnected , there comes a e-mail about the revie of how well did the person behave on the call.

The fifth reason of using godaddy is they have all the payment options like netbanking , upi , credit card . So it makes easier for the user to buy the domain. Many websites have only credit card as their payment option. Then the consumer , if they want to purchase also , they are not able to do so because the payment option is limited.

I first heard the term in 2019. I did not understand what is blogging? It took me 2 months of search all over the internet to understand what does blogging mean? Then I figured out that whatever we read in Google or Wikipedia, someone must have written it in the first place. The people who write the content in some form or the other are called bloggers and the process of writing and publishing content on various websites is called blogging. It is then organized properly on the internet, and depending on the search queries, the data props up.

         In layman terms blogging is what we used to write in English essays in high school, the same content written for various business as content on their websites and optimized according to search queries on Google is called blogging. But why is blogging important in the first place?

        Today I will list 7 reasons why blogging is important.
