5 reasons for using godaddy

Hi Friends,have you heard of godaddy.com ? I am asking this because for the last few weeks ,I have been emphasizing on using digital marketing for promoting your business. But very few people have idea of taking their business online.

        The first step in online business is a domain and a hosting. A domain is like a land on the internet and hosting is the house where you build your web property. And websites like godaddyhttps://www.godaddy.com/en-in, bluehost https://www.bluehost.in/, hostingerhttps://www.hostinger.in/ are like brokers or registrars of the online world. 

         The first reason for using godaddy for my website is because I like their service. It might cost a bit more than some other competitors,  but you always have to pay for the quality.           You can call them at any time of the day. Whether it is Sunday or Monday, it doesn’t really matter at all. They always recieve the call and sort out your queries. 

           In building a website ,keep in mind to buy 5 things together ,a domain, a hosting, a ssl, an email and backup if they are providing . All the five things are equally important . Domain and hosting works well if they are in the same place like I have both on Godaddy. SSL is also something which is very important . I made the mistake of not buying it in the first place. I thought I will buy when I will need it. 

         But without SSLhttps://www.ssl.com/faqs/faq-what-is-ssl/ ,the basic purpose of creating a website will be defeated because whenever some one visits a website which doesn’t have SSL, the website visitor starts getting messages that the website which you are about to visit is unsafe. Enter on your own risk . Many visitors will stop visiting and anyone who makes a website wants a lot of traffic on the website. So, SSL becomes very important. 

        A professional email is also provided for free if it is included in the starter package . If you buy it later, you have to pay separately for the email. That’s why it makes more sense to get it in the first place itself. 

 The fifth thing which is included in some packages is the backups. Backups means the data of the website is stored in a secondary place ,if the website crashes for some reasons. But almost all the service providers promises 99.9 % uptime but no one can guarantee that the website will never be down . There are so many viruses and malware that there is always a risk for the website. 

             After this starter bundle , the next step is the plugins. There is a option of building your website on WordPress. WordPress is a open source software which helps in building websites easily even if you have no knowledge of coding. Back in 2002, when there was no WordPress, websites were built using Javascript codes which was very tough and expensive too. Today 90 % of the websites are made on WordPresshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress. Making websites has become easy and with companies like GoDaddy and Bluehost, hosting needs are taken care of .

          The next step is installing plugins. There are thousands of pluginshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-in in WordPress which help in providing additional features in the websites. Websites are also of many types. It depends on whether you are making an e-commerce store or for simple blogging. It depends on the business, and the business owner how their website will look and the features they need in their website. In fact if you know designing websites very well for other businesses, you can make a career out of it.

          Then there is online advertising, e-mail marketing and social media marketing, which I will explain in some other blog. In fact, helping other businesses in increasing their sales a very big business.

The second reason for using Godaddy is their comprehensive knowledge base. They have video tutorials on every possible aspect of websites. So for a beginner ,it is of lot of help. Ofcourse when you are starting out ,you want to go with someone you trust and if the company is more than 20 years old,trust automatically builds. Many companies in the same field like namecheap https://www.namecheap.com/ do not have calling support . They have chat support but you don’t know when you will recieve the reply . Calling number is much easier.

The third reason for using godaddy is easy setup of WordPress on their hosting account . If you have no idea of coding like me , installing via Cpanel will be very difficult . Other providers may offer it cheap but ,what’s the point if you are not able to install it yourself. Godaddy provides a one-click installation with wordpress , so that you website is up and running within minutes, even for a newbie with no coding knowledge .

The fourth reason of using godaddy for your hosting is that they have competetive pricing. I also have a tip if you are registering for the first time. Always buy for 3 years or more in a package because if you buy only for 1 year ,renewal will be expensive. It is the same structure in all the products. If you buy for a longer duration, you get a discount.

As I am writing this article , I was also checking reviews of other users on google about godaddy . It was very surprising that there are some articles with the heading like “10 reasons of not using godaddy” . It seems it is written by an expert in their field. For example if you are expert in your subject like maths and some other teacher is coaching to a weak student and charging high fees from him ,then you complain that his services are very expensive. Godaddy has more than 20 million users and trust is always built if it is a leading player in the market.

And some one was commenting that its customer care is not good. I have been calling to godaddy’s customer support for more that 2 years now, and I never felt that they were arrogant. After the call gets disconnected , there comes a e-mail about the revie of how well did the person behave on the call.

The fifth reason of using godaddy is they have all the payment options like netbanking , upi , credit card . So it makes easier for the user to buy the domain. Many websites have only credit card as their payment option. Then the consumer , if they want to purchase also , they are not able to do so because the payment option is limited.
